Top 3 Ways to Find a Photographer

Looking for a photographer?

It can be a pretty daunting task.

But it doesn’t have to be!

We’re going to share the top 3 ways to find the best photographer for you.

1. Online Exploration:

Look online!

Even though this is the most obvious way to find a photographer, it may or may not be the best way, but it is surely one of the easiest and quickest ways.

Start by searching for photographers in your area. The best way to do that is usually by going to Google Maps or Yelp. At a quick glance you’ll be able to see an overview of the photographers in your area along with reviews.

Type in keywords like this:

  • Photographers near me

  • Calgary photographer

  • Photographers in Calgary Alberta

Instagram is also gaining more and more popularity these days.

Search for hashtags like #CalgaryPhotographer to discover local talent and explore their work right from the palm of your hand.

Online exploration is a great way to start your search for a photographer. If any of them catch your eye, be sure to bookmark them!

2. Word of Mouth:

This might actually be the #1 way to find a trusted and reliable photographer!

But, I didn’t include it as the first one in this list simply because there might be very few people you know that can offer you a recommendation, if at all.

However, if you can ask around between friends, family, or co-workers who may have had positive experiences with photographers, I’ll bet that you’ll get the most valuable feedback anywhere.

Nothing beats a personal recommendation!

If someone you know and trust tells you that they’ve had a positive experience with a particular photographer, it may end your search right there.

3. Photography Studios:

Depending on your need, a photography studio might be able to offer you a much more diverse range of services. Anywhere from studio photos, outdoor, themed and various other styles. They may also offer additional services like custom editing or printing.

Studios are generally equipped with the lighting, props, and other technology to generate the best quality.

Also, since studios will have a team of photographers, you will likely find that they will maintain a consistent standard and style.

Your search for the perfect photographer in Calgary is a personalized journey, and each avenue offers a unique experience tailored to your preferences. Whether you're scrolling through online, chatting with friends, or exploring studios, finding your ideal photographer can be an adventure. Embrace the process, connect with Calgary's diverse photography community, and let the magic of your story come to life through the lens of a skilled professional.
